Leveraging Our Greatest Asset (Hint: it’s our PEOPLE) to Drive Innovation

Innovate to Elevate. It’s one of the tenets of Blue Cross NC. Technology is crucial for innovation. And innovation in technology is critical to innovation in most other areas of life. Why? Because it’s the rapid and forward evolution of technology that allows us to do more with less, improving our overall standard of living.

An important thing for Blue Cross NC is to keep breaking down the old barriers that prevent us from understanding what’s new and possible. One way we are nurturing a forward-thinking work community is through programs like the annual Tech Olympics, an open hackathon program which invites teams of Blue Cross NC employees to design, create, test and demo a technology innovation to improve process, reduce time/costs and/or increase workplace efficiency. Each team is provided coaching, mentoring, security consulting, frequent feedback, and development training.
